If you’re overseas and accepted into an approved exchange programme, you can come to New Zealand to study full-time. While you’re here, you’ll benefit from excellent teaching and earn qualifications that are recognised worldwide.

Students studying under reciprocal exchange schemes approved by the Minister of Education are considered to be domestic students for the purposes of attending primary and secondary schools and are exempt from paying foreign tuition fees.

• Student exchange schemes run by approved exchange programmed organizations

You can stay up to 4 years depending on the length of your exchange, and can study full-time in a school-to-school exchange, an exchange programme organisation scheme or a tertiary exchange.

This visa will also allow you to work part-time for up to 20 hours a week while studying or full-time in the holidays, depending on your age and how long your study is for.
