New Zealand Employer Accreditation

New Zealand Employer Accreditation

Employer Accreditation

Instructions from Immigration New Zealand (INZ) stipulate that all New Zealand employers must be accredited if they intend to recruit migrant workers, effective 4 July 2022. Once you are accredited, you can advertise and get a job check done to start the recruiting process.

Steps to follow:

As an employer, you need to follow these three steps:

Step 1: Obtain employerย accreditation.
Step 2: Pass aย job checkย for the role you are seeking to fill.
Step 3: Invite a migrant worker toย apply for a visa.
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) will check that the person:
  1. Meets all the rules for the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).
  2. Has the skills and experience you advertised.
Once those checks are all good, INZ will grant the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV). The whole point is to make sure youโ€™ve first tried to hire New Zealand workers and only if you canโ€™t find anyone suitable can you bring in someone from overseas.

Assessment Process of INZ

Most visa applications are checked using the information you provide and automatic checks against public records or MBIEโ€™s data.
If Immigration New Zealand (INZ) isnโ€™t sure you meet the rules or needs more details, theyโ€™ll get in touch. Sometimes, you might have to upload extra documents up front instead of waiting for INZ to ask.
